T-Mobile, the mobile network operator is all set to come up with the sales of the HTC Wildfire Smartphone in the UK market starting mid-June.
It was unveiled by the company that the Android gadget will commence its sales in the market from June 14th onwards. It would be available for a two year contract with tariffs starting at £20 a month.
The Wildfire Smartphone will be the first handset that includes the App Sharing software so that the users can share apps within their friends. Added to this, the handset is pre-loaded with social networking apps like Twitter, Facebook and Flickr thereby giving due importance to friendship theme.
Further, all the information about your friends’ activities can be pooled together into a single place called the Friend Stream through these applications. This is an effective application tool for some users, whereas some opine that there might be greater probability to ignore as all data will be in one place.
However, the HTC Wildfire is expected to be a wonderful addition to the Android portfolio as per T-Mobile, UK. The HTC Wildfire also allows customers to easily afford an Android-based smartphone.
The handset comes with a touchscreen of 3.2 inch, upgraded camera of 5 megapixel, HSDPA for browsing the web with lightning speed and Active Synch that allows working with web as well as personal mails.
WebOS based new mobile handsets Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi plus are about to hit UK consumer pockets on 28th of May through O2 as carrier.
One would need to wait and watch the impact of this on Apple’s party as both these handsets are a bit improvised transformations of their older versions.
The Pixi Plus is packed with all basic and advanced features, which can be input through a full QWERTY keyboard. Most of the features of Palm Pre Plus are also same as Pixi with a few enhancements like QWERTY keyboard silently slides under the 3.1 display with HVGA capability and camera is also upgraded to 3 MP when compared to 2.0 mega pixel camera of Pixi.
Also, now the Pre Plus allows double the amount of online storage whereas the Pixi plus is provided with Wi-Fi connectivity. Touchstone compatibility is also available for the Pre Plus.
Another good thing is that both these handsets are bundled with unlimited data & texts, BT Openzone and Wi-Fi at the Cloud. The tariff for a contract of two years starts at £25 a month with 100 minutes. The rate for the Pre Plus is £99 and that for the Pixi Plus is £49.
One can even go with an 18-month contract for £35 band for both the mobiles and get 600 minutes. However, going up either of these two deals might leave the subscribers with a bigger hole in their pocket than that in the case of T-Mobile’s charges for the HTC Desire.
Though unsure of the market potential for table PCs, the Japanese conglomerate Sony is planning to enter market with a tablet PC in competition with Apple’s iPad that has already ruled the market with its popularity.
Sony claimed that they have made a study for quite a few years so as to make some good opportunities. However, he did not disclose whether the tablet PC yet to be launched is bigger than its existing reader tablet available in stores now, which is by far the fastest growing gadget in terms of units, from the house of Sony.
More than a million units of Apple’s iPad have already been sold so far after its launch a month ago in the US. The iPad tablet is so much in demand that it is found to be running out of stock in the US and the UK consistently.
There are a lot of other manufacturers in the fray who have confirmed the launch of a tablet PC including Acer, MSI, Dell, and Asus some of them using the ARMdroid platform and the others on WinTel.
Apple is turning out to be a la third millennium Sony given the fact it has been a trend-setter rather than being a follower.

Today with the emerging trend for advanced technology, mobile freaks are willing to own advanced gadgets like the iPhone. Earlier we used to find a car or the lavatory with a flush as necessities and thereby considered them as important inventions. Today, the scenario has changed and an advanced mobile phone has become the need of the hour.
One should no more be bewildered to know that the iPhone has been voted as a rather important innovation when compared to the car or the flushing toilet.
It might not come as a surprise though, given the fact that 42 million units of Apple Smartphone have been sold since three years of its launch. The iPhone left behind the camera and washing machine in terms of sales.
This can be justified from the poll of 4,000 consumers which came up with the wheel as the Numero Uno invention in the human history. Then follow the Aeroplane, Light bulb, the World-wide web, and the Computers. Alexander Graham Bell’s telephone occupied sixth place and was followed by Sir Alexander Fleming’s discovery of Penicillin as seventh place.
And then we have the Apple iPhone in eighth place, followed by the flushing lavatory and internal combustion engine in ninth and tenth places respectively. All in all, it’s no less than an achievement to see iPhone being placed along with other inventions like Penicillin which indicates its importance.
Here comes some news which will surprise on the downside all the phone and laptop users as Vodafone is planning to make a hike in the connectivity of mobile broadband services overseas. Heavy data users could be the major sufferers as the price rise lead to five times fatter bills.
Roaming charges of data while using your phone would be at £1 a megabyte for first 5MB used and later each extra 5MB will be charged at £5 from 15th June onwards in Europe. When it comes to laptop’s connectivity rates, first 50MB data will be charged at £10 and then each 50MB above that will be charged £10.
Vodafone’s charges are even higher outside Europe. Mobile users have to shell out £3 a megabyte for the initial 5MB transferred and then £15 for each extra 5MB.On the other hand with laptop, first 50MB used will be charged at £30 and then each extra 50MB at £30.
However, the lower rung users are benefitted with Vodafone’s new pricing strategy as now instead of spending more on purchase of large data allowance which they really don’t need, they will be paying per megabyte. But, the ones who use more data will be the losers as they have to shell out more than the current rates.
As per Vodafone, the impact of increased rates will be on small number of users as majority of its customers use data less than 5MB and as such, they will have to shell out less now.

The Taiwan-based manufacturer, Asus plans to roll out a netbook with a plugged in mobile phone so that the device doubles up as a computer and a mobile phone according to a UK distributor. Users can thus use the same SIM card and data usage account for the computer and the mobile phone.
An Israeli company, Modu is already in the market selling the phone module along with a variety of phone shells and other gadgets into which it can be slotted.
As per Purely Gadgets, the ideology behind is that one should have the flexibility to change the shell of the mobile phone as per personal tastes and occasions. In scenarios where the user doesn’t want to take the whole netbook along, he/she can simply pull away the phone and take it along.
In today’s world, we have two different gadgets in the form of tablet PC and Smartphone for different use cases. Either the device is too small for comfortable usage or it is too big to carry in a pocket. The Asus netbook approach can find a way out, thanks to Modu slot phones.
The issue is exemplified by Apple’s Iphone and the larger Ipad. The only way to have the advantages of both Apple devices is to buy both and synchronise data between them.

A survey in the UK by research group, Simpson Carpenter has put the Apple iPad down. The research firm dissected the target audience into four groups of consumers with varied background and took their opinion about the tablet PC from Apple.
Apple’s iPad was not received very well despite the consumers being enthusiastic about the device in the beginning. The big question churning out of their mind was what exactly the tablet PC was meant for. People could not figure out the significance of the device given the backdrop that it sits between the Smartphone and the laptop.
People felt that the iPad looked like a bigger iPhone with no camera and no phone or that they could do all these things on their PC. There were technology lovers who were pretty keen playing and fiddling with the tablet, but the numbers were less.
Simpson Carpenter opines that people are not really looking forward to shell out around £500 for a gadget whose use cases are not clear given the backdrop of the economic slowdown.
