Even as Vodafone officially gears up to launch HTC Desire HD phone on 14th October, T-Mobile is trying to catch up by launching the handset very soon.
A source in T-Mobile revealed that the company is busy stocking up the HTC Desire HD Smartphone and that plans are afoot to make the 4.3-inch Android Smartphone available to its customers in few weeks.
The handset is already being offered by Vodafone on pre-order with various contracts ranging from £35 to £55 per month. The handset can be bagged for £25- £30 monthly contracts as well but then the handset needs to be bought.
The HTC Desire HD as known to many is a clear upgrade of the HTC Desire as the bulkier Desire comes bundled with more memory ( RAM and ROM ), a higher pixel camera, a faster processor and a larger screen. The handset supports Dolby Mobile, SRS Surround and DLNA sound.
Showed off at HTC’s London conference last month, the HTC Desire DD features a 1GHz processor and an 8 MP camera with 720p HD recording capability. It has a 4.3-inch LCD display instead of the AMOLED screen sported by the original HTC Desire mobile.
The HTC 7 Trophy Smartphone seems to go Vodafone’s way. A leaked snapshot of the company’s inventory suggests the Trophy as amongst one of the upcoming models. Motorola Defy also features in the picture. BestBoyz’s sources in a Vodafone’s German database spotted the HTC 7 Trophy for the first time.
HTC 7 Trophy is probably named that way to suggest that the much-awaited Windows Phone 7 platform powers it up. It seems more of a smaller sibling of HTC HD7.
The specs of the Trophy were leaked last week and the handset is expected to sport a 3.8-inch 800×400 WVGA display, 8GB memory, and a 5MP camera with LED Flash and autofocus. The handset is expected to have a 1GHz Snapdragon processor apart from 3G and Wi-Fi.
Just the way HTC Mozart handset powered by Windows Phone 7 has a fixed 8GB memory the HTC 7 Trophy has memory as its Achilles heel.
Details about the first HTC handset powered by the much anticipated Windows Phone 7 platform got leaked thanks to some leaked screenshots from the mobile phone retailer, Phones4U. HTC Mozart is more of a mainstream handset than an elite / niche model as the HTC Desire HD.
HTC Mozart shares similar specs as the HTC Desire HD except that it comes with a 3.7-inch WVGA capacitive Touch Screen compared to the 4.3-inch screen of Desire HD. HTC Mozart comes with 8.5GB in-built memory with no option to increase the same.
Mozart looks a little bigger than the iPhone 4 with dimensions of 119×60.5×11.9mm. It has an 8Megapixel camera with Xenon flash and supports 720p video recording too. Other specs include a 1GHz processor 512MB RAM, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, Wi-Fi, FM Radio, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a GPS and a 1300mAh battery.
HTC Mozart is mentioned as “Our first Windows Phone 7 device” by Phones4U and it also mentions Mozart as the only one being offered by it this year though around 10 handsets are expected to sport WP7 by end of 2010.
HTC Mozart is to get launched on the same day as Windows Phone 7 release to public i.e., October 11. After a fortnight, shipments for the Mozart handsets are expected.
We have seen Android tablet PCs being offered by Disgo and Next at £180 and that sounds pretty cheap. However, if you think that they are a little too costly to be presented as a Christmas gift to you near and dear little ones the 7-inch tablet from Morgan computers might just fit the bill.
Despite the fact that the tablet will sport Android 1.7.4 with an ARM9 VIA8505+ 400MHz processor powered by just 128MB of RAM, it still sounds a good deal with the price tag of £85. The 7-inch tablet comes with 2GB memory which can be further expanded by SD or USB.
The tablet comes with 800×480 QVGA display, and a 0.3-megapixel webcam. It supports H.263 AVI files and can be connected by Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. 3-hour battery life makes the tablet look mean but it is the same as that of the £180 tablet for that matter.
Morgan Computers is the place to go if you want to get your hands on one such tablets. The company is accepting pre-orders for the tablet which is expected to ship on 18th October.
