The much awaited world’s first professional-grade tablet, the BlackBerry PlayBook from the Canadian manufacturer of BlackBerrys, Research in Motion (RIM) is finally geared up to be available for the grabs very soon.

The BlackBerry PlayBook tablet is now available for pre-order at the UK website. However, no UK pricing details have been disclosed so far.

The BlackBerry Playbook is expected to hit the UK store shelves in Q2 of 2011. The tablet will be available with Wi-Fi in three different versions to go with viz. 16GB, 32GB and the 64GB one. The US price tags for these versions are $499, $599 and $699 respectively.

Coming to the specs of the PlayBook, it boasts a WSVGA capacitive touchscreen of 7-inch, 1GB of RAM, onboard storage expandable up to 64GB, GPS, Wi-Fi, two cameras and a HDMI output. It is also powered by a dual core TI OMAP 4 processor clocked at 1.2GHz.

It was also announced earlier that the PlayBook would come with Android applications and native apps support.  RIM would launch two ‘app players’ thereby enabling the tablet to run Blackberry Java apps and Android 2.3 apps.

All in all, this BlackBerry PlayBook will make a revolution in true sense by making its users have a true laptop experience.
