Taiwanese giant, Acer is all set to join the burgeoning Tablet PC market where we have seen announcements from bigwigs as well as smaller players joining the fray. Acer tablets will face a formidable challenge as they plan to enter the crowded tablet market to compete with Apple iPad, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Dell Streak, and Next tablet.

You can now lay your hands on the much awaited 7-inch Honeycomb tablet, the Acer Iconia Tab A100 by placing pre-orders on Amazon. Amazon is offering the tablet at a budget-minded price of £300. Amazon is all set to release the gadget on April 20th.

The much hyped tablet is powered by Tegra 2 dual-core processor, a 5-megapixel twin camera along with Honeycomb flavoured Android thereby giving tough competition to the iPad 2. The major downside of the device is having just 8GB of on board storage which is quite less.

However to withstand the competition given by Apple, Android tablets are proving to be quite good. Also, the price of Galaxy Tab from Samsung with Wi-Fi has also come down to £300 on Amazon.
