HP is all set to come up with its first webOS tablet, the TouchPad which would give cutting-edge competition to the already dominating Apple’s iPad and iPad 2 tablets.

The webOS tablet which would be officially launched in mid-July in the UK is now available for preorder at Carphone Warehouse and HP. Also, it would cost the same as the competitor Apple iPad 2 Wi-Fi. However, 3G version of the tablet would be available later.

You can place your hands on the 16GB model for £399 and on the 32GB model for £479. Also, 64GB version has not yet been made available for the UK market. Moreover, no network operator has taken a step ahead to offer the tablet with a monthly contract which could make the tablet price a bit cheaper.

The webOS tablet comes with a Wi-Fi connection, a 9.7-inch XGA capacitive touchscreen display as well as a 1.2GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. According to HP, the TouchPad would be a compelling alternative when compared to other tablets, thanks to its webOS.

It also features 1GB RAM, a front facing webcam with no rear camera as well as a 6300mAh battery. The tablet will be more suited for both personal and professional use due to the amazing features and flexibility offered by the webOS platform which features Beats Audio technology.

The users will be able to enjoy ‘next-level multitasking’ as well as improved web access with the HP TouchPad which integrates webOS.
