O2 announced Android 2.1 upgrade for Sony Ericsson X10 handset

O2 Android 2.1

After Orange, O2 has announced availability of latest Android 2.1 upgrade for existing Sony Ericsson X10 from Android 1.6 to Android 2.1, which is also known as Éclair. This upgrade will bring in Multi Touch capability for Sony Ericsson handsets.

Sony Ericsson X10 owners including Xperia X10, X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro, would have already got message to upgrade the handset platform from current Android 1.6 to Android 2.1. Though this feature still behind the latest Android version (Android 2.2) available in the market, which is currently available on HTC Desire and Samsung Galaxy S, this current upgrade will provide bunch of new features improved touch keypad, browser and camera, which will now onwards supports HD video recording and wireless connectivity.

Now that leading UK network providers Orange and O2 has announced their upgrade for Sony Ericsson X10 handsets, other providers like Vodafone and T-Mobile are also expected to announce their upgrade soon.
