Samsung Galaxy Tab for just £299

Samsung Galaxy freaks will be overwhelmed to know that the much awaited Samsung P1010, also known as the Samsung Galaxy Tab, Wi-Fi version is all set to hit the UK market via Amazon. The tablet will be available for just £299 including delivery charges.

The gadget is said to be unveiled tomorrow, about 1 week after the launch of iPad 2. It is however being reported that the tablet is already being sold by Best Buy. Actually, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3G was introduced last year itself with a price tag of more than £500 which however came down to £300.

Coming to specs of the device, the P1010 is similar to that of the Galaxy Tab except that the latter comes with 3G. Other specs of the P1010 include Samsung Hummingbird SoC clocked at 1GHz, onboard storage memory of 16GB, 512MB RAM, a 7 inch capacitive screen having 124×600 pixels resolution. The device is also bundled with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a front facing and rear camera as well as Android 2.2 OS.

Unfortunately, the device is anticipated to face difficulty to withstand the competition given by its rivals the iPad v1 or the iPad 2.The iPad v1 is available for just £289 where as the iPad 2 can be owned online for  £389. The iPad 1 which is bundled with a single core SoC possess only 256MB RAM and has no camera.
