The Motorola Milestone 2 Smartphone has marked its arrival in the UK and you can now buy handset SIM-Free as well as carrier centric if you want to have fun with the sequel of the critically acclaimed 2009 original Milestone.

For 380 GBP, you can get hold of the Motorola Milestone2 SIM-Free and if you can sign up for a 30GBP per month 24-month contract or a 35 GBP per month 18-month contract, Vodafone is willing to offer the handset for free. And to top it up, you can get a free car kit if you buy it via Expansys.

Motorola Milestone 2 is an organic evolution of existing Milestone rather a revolutionary sequel. Basically, this is a result of elimination of certain fundamental design flaws in the first version, which have been plaguing it. The first of these flaws is a beleaguered keyboard, which has been modified to be more user-friendly to type. It also provides some additional space created by the removal of the directional pad.

The Milestone 2 is bundled with a 3.7-inch touchscreen having 480 x 854 pixels, internal memory of 8GB extendable up to 32GB via microSD card and 1GHz processor. Other specs of the device are a 5MP camera capturing 720p video, QWERTY keyboard along with the Webkit-based browser supporting Flash 10.1. Milestone comes with preloaded Android 2.2, which is also known as Froyo.

The handset functions as a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, thanks to the 802.11n Wi-Fi. Also, the handset has the ability to share its multimedia content with compatible devices. The MotoBlur UI from Motorola helps all messages from Twitter, and Facebook merge into a common place on the home screen, thus making social networking very easy.
