The latest update has it that the expected release date of Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro has been shifted to October. The news has been let out by Carphone warehouse. This puts the schedule a full five months behind the actual plan.

The reasons behind the delay aren’t exactly known. Whatever it may be, the Sony Xperia Pro is going to take that much longer to land in our hands. Ironically, the website of Sony Ericsson still puts the release date as July but the Carphone warehouse has updated its pre-order page with the launch date that reads as October.

The initial reviews for the model were impressive. The touch screen gave it a bright and responsive look and the weight is also on the lower side at 140g. The slide-out QWERTY keypad is user-friendly and easy to use too.

The processor is a 1 GHz Snapdragon ensuring that the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system runs peacefully. Flash support is offered for the browser which gives an option to watch online videos.

The Xperia Pro is going to make the wait a little longer but the wait is worth – if the initial reviews are anything to go by. It remains to be seen if the market would be dampened with this latest push back of the release date.
