UK launch of Motorola Xoom on the Cards

Here comes an exciting news for all those who have been waiting to lay their hands on the first Honeycomb tablet, the Motorola Xoom. The much hyped Honeycomb 10.1? tab is all set to be released next week in the United Kingdom.

You can grab the gadget at Carphone Warehouse, and Dixons Store Group retail chains – Dixons, PC World, and Currys. You can also grab the SIM-free version of the first Honeycomb tablet at Clove and King of Gadgets, the UK outlets. The tablet is also heading to Taiwan and South Korea next month.

Bundled with the Honeycomb OS, this is the first hing-end device which is anticipated to give tough competition to the already leading Apple iPad tablet. Other specs of the tablet are 10.1? touchscreen at 1280×800 resolution, an amazing 1GHz Tegra 2 dual core processor, 1GB RAM, HDMI outlet, USB, Adobe Flash, Android market access, microSD support along with many other features.

Though officially the release of the device has been announced, its price, version and availability details are yet to be confirmed. The 3G version of the tablet is said to cost £600 where as the Wi-Fi version is said to cost £500. It is not yet known if both the versions will be released at a go or not.

Apart from the Motorola Xoom, the HTC Flyer is also on its way that will be heading to UK from May 5th.
