The Galaxy Tab 10.1 will hit the UK this August as confirmed by Samsung. The tablet PC which was expected sometime in July or August is pretty much on time. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is being touted as the able competitor to the market leader, Apple iPad 2. This tablet is a successor to Galaxy Tab which was launched last year.

The P7100 Honeycomb tablet is powered by a 1GHz Dual Core processor which is possibly the Samsung Exynos 4210 system. It also sports 1GB RAM, 16GB of onboard storage along with an ARM Mali 400 GPU.

Just like other Honeycomb tablets, the P7100 also boasts a 10.1- inch WXGA TFT capacitive Touch-screen, a bigger tad than that of the iPad 2 and fully loaded with an array of sensors. The tablet is 10.9 mm thick which is slightly thicker than the Apple iPad. It is however 2g lighter than the iPad weighing only 599g.

Other specs of the tablet are dual surrounded sound speakers, full Google Services access, AGPS, Wi-Fi, Flash support, an 8 mega pixel rear camera along with Full HD recording and HD playback. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 thus is expected to give Apple iPad 2 a run for its money.

Will the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 just make the Apple iPad 2 run for cover or will it be a runaway hit? Let’s wait and watch.
