If reports are anything to go by, the service provider Vodafone is reportedly preparing to launch its own Facebook phone. This would bring mobile social networking to the customers at low prices.

The phone which looks similar to HTC ChaCha in style comes with a QWERTY keyboard and silver chassis. A leaked picture over the internet shows this Vodafone Facebook phone with a dedicated Facebook key.

Another startling rumor doing rounds is that this phone would not be running Android or any kind of smart phone Operating System. The chances are that it would be running on a non-proprietary OS but everyone knows it isn’t given.

There’s every chance that the phone would be priced on par with its counterpart latest gadgets. However, if Vodafone is planning to release the phone at around something £20 with a decent data bundle for Facebook, it would give a good reason as to why Vodafone decided to eschew Android.

Given the design similarity to Chacha, it would be very interesting to see where Vodafone would fit its Facebook phone in the market!
