Windows tablet from Archos

French Tablet manufacturer Archos has launched a Windows 7 tablet known as Archos 9 so as to offer multimedia functionality and productivity aiming to attract enterprise users. The tablet comes in a 9in form factor and with a price tag of around £400.

The tablet boasts Windows 7 Starter operating system rather than Android which is found in Archos 101 and Archos 7. It also features Microsoft Security Essentials virus protection software, Lotus Symphony productivity suite and Skype.

The iPad sized Archos 9 tablet is 17mm thick and weighs 800g. It boasts 1024×600 resolution and HD 1080p playback support. It also features a 8.9in resistive LED backlit screen, a 1.2GHz Intel Atom processor, a 1.3-megapixel webcam, 1GB of RAM and a 32GB of SSD storage.

Additionally, the tablet comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a USB port, an optical trackpad with left and right mouse buttons and an Ethernet port. The device supports battery life up to 5 hours. However, users can replace the battery so as to extend the device life if required.

Not simply this. The tablet also sports stereo speakers. Moreover, you can use the USB port to connect to other devices like hard drives and digital cameras.
