Nokia N8 delayed yet again
Sep 21st, 2010 by Dipak Sarda

Nokia_Medium Nokia N8

Stephen Elop, the new CEO of Nokia had to postpone the launch of the much awaited Smartphone, Nokia N8 as one of his first decisions at the top.

It is the second time that Nokia has delayed the delivery of the top-class Smartphone Nokia N8. Nokia will leave its N8 pre-order customers high and dry as it announced that the customers can expect the N8 sometime in October.

The Finnish mobile major has tried all the tricks in the bag to play down the delay and boast of the disclosures as transparency. Nokia stated that it wanted to maintain transparency with its loyal customers who helped it bag a record number of pre-orders online. It also stated that the Nokia N8 shall reach the customers some time in October instead of the earlier end-of-September plan.

Given the fact that Nokia showed off the N8 at its World event in London last week, this delay is all the more surprising. The handset did not really create a big flutter after the show-off but people have good expectations from the handset, thanks to Nokia’s reputation.

N8 is the first and last N-series smartphone from Nokia based on Symbian ^3 operating system. To brief out about Nokia N8, it is bundled with a 3.5 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display, a 12-megapixel camera with Xenon flash, HD recording, a mini HDMI slot, Ovi Maps, Dolby Digital Plus technology along with 16GB memory.

Will customers pardon Nokia for the delay and continue to support the phone maker because of its highly usable handsets so far? Let’s wait and watch.
